As we look forward to another great year for 13Pro I can honestly say that I could not have hand picked a better group to serve as our Board of Directors for 2012.
This is a tremendous organization with an unbelievable amount of potential. I volunteer because I believe that we haven't even begun to scratch the service of what this group could grow into. The previous board devoted so much of their time to stabilizing this organization and cleaning up some of the rough edges that come with being a new non-profit. They have left us in a great position to use this year for dramatic growth in both our membership and sponsorship.
If I could ask each one of you to make one more New Year's resolutions this year, it would to get more involved with a 13Pro committee. Our committees have been growing steadily with our organization but need more help and more volunteers to really get to the next level. Joining a committee is only a 1 hour a month commitment and it is a great way to meet some new people.
We have a great potential for growth in our Professional Development Committee with Amanda Thalhammer, a Membership Committee that is dedicated to making sure that we are doing everything possible to recruit at our events along with Kim Clemens who is returning again this year after reviving the Community Outreach position single handedly last year. I really look forward to
see what this group can accomplish.
A big thank you to everyone who helped 13Pro have one of our best year’s yet. In 2011 we saw success in increased membership, improved communication tools, more professional development opportunities and increased donations made to the surrounding southern Illinois communities.
Our sponsors have been a vital support system for our events and programs, and would not have been possible without them. I encourage you to take a moment and check out our sponsors.
As your outgoing President, I would like to take a moment to thank our outgoing officers for a year of service to 13Pro; Jenni Janssen (Vice-President), Jesse Barge (Treasurer), Courtney Finigan (Secretary), Tena Bennett (Professional Development), Melissa Whitt (Communications), Kim Clemens (Community Outreach), Nic Skovgaard (Social), Rachel Kubiak (Membership), and Drake Hall (Public Relations) and our At-Large Board Members Gavin Flure, Rob Whitt and Logan Johnson.
As we turn a new page in 13Pro, I wish the new board members nothing but success as we begin our journey into 2012.
